Residential Tenancies Act

In Alberta, the Residential Tenancies Act governs landlords and tenants of residential property. In a condominium, the Board of Directors has a limited role. If tenancy problems arise, the Board will direct the owner to deal with the tenant. In doing so, the unit owner must abide by the Residential Tenancies Act, the Condominium Property Act and the condominium Bylaws.
