Reserve Fund Plan

The reserve fund plan is a long-term budget that estimates the cost of capital repairs or replacement and the date the work needs to be done. The plan serves two purposes: 1) it is a funding guideline that ensures sufficient money is saved in the reserve fund, and 2) it is a timeline for scheduling major repairs or replacements. The plan is often prepared for the board of directors by the consultant hired to conduct the reserve fund study.
